Vouliagmeni Athens Riviera
One of the most luxurious coastal suburbs of Athens, Vouliagmeni is an elegeant, stylish, and highly sought-after area located on the Southern end of the Athenian Riviera. It is 20km away from the city center, just 9km from Glyfada, and a 50-minute drive from Cape Sounio.
Vouliagmeni features many beaches including Astir Beach, Krabo, and Zen Beach, among others. Fine-dining options including the Ithaki restaurant part of the Four Season’s Astir Palace complex, and a number of stylish bars all overlooking the seaside can also be found in this area.
Hidden within a sunken cavern is the magnificent Vouliagmeni lake that is formed with underground mineral currents and is known for its steady 24-degree water temperature year-round. The landscape is truly breathtaking as the lake is surrounded by commanding cliffs and is filled with tiny black fish known as kalogries that gently nudge at your feet making Vouliagmeni lake one of the few 100% natural spas available.
Beyond it’s beautiful landscape, dining options, and access to beaches, Vouliagmeni also offers a Marina with excellent dining options at Moorings and a vibrant boardwalk and square for a promenade. The fact that it is located on the South-East part of the Athenian Riviera make it a desirable location because it is only a 10-minute drive to Glyfada which is the center of the seaside areas and only a 50-minute drive to Sounio and the temple of Poseidon.
Many prefer the serene landscape of Vouliagmeni as it offers the vibrant choices as well as the relaxing views with easy access and a short distance away from the noisy part of Glyfada and Voula.
